La Blaseñita, Downtown Ensenada

Today we visited La Blaseñita in downtown Ensenada. We were on a search for a Menudo for breakfast. We are so glad we found it. This place is a small corner restaurant, with only five tables, and you can see the cooks while they make fresh tortillas, gorditas and all sorts of yummy traditional Mexican food.
We enjoyed a Menudo with all of its fresh veggies on it. It also came with tostadas and to drink we choose a café de olla.  Café de olla is a coffee traditionally prepared in earthen clay pots, some made by artisans but the distinct flavor of Café de olla is derived from cinnamon and piloncillo. Finally, to cool off after all the salsa we got a fresh watermelon water.
We can't wait to go back for lunch and try their gorditas, huaraches and mole.

"Travel in itself is one of the most rewarding experiences. You get to see new places, immerse yourself in new experiences, try new cuisines and meet incredibly vibrant and unique people. However, not all travel is created equal.

So many people miss the once-in-a-lifetime moments and the unforgettable encounters when their faces are buried deep in guidebooks or stuck with other tourists at iconic landmarks. The key to the most life-altering, memory-making and utterly beautiful travel is to do it like a local. These secrets, some better known than others, will transform your trip into one you'll remember forever. "
